SOMA Surf is one of the first surf therapy NGOs in Africa dedicated exclusively to women. Since 2021, they have been creating a safe space for young São Toméan women to overcome social exclusion, build confidence and find their place in the world — through surf, education and empowerment.
SIEVE’s story began on a beach in Denmark, collecting plastic washed up on the shore. This sparked the idea of turning recycled plastic into surf fins — creating a sustainable alternative to conventional fins and promoting a more responsible use of plastic.
